How freakin’ adorable is this dress from Charlotte Russe? I’m actually OBSESSED with it! It’s exactly my style – shows off my small waist, hides my curvier lower half, and is modest without being suffocating. It’s such a classic look and then the leather adds a little modern edge to it. I paired it with red-ish/raspberry lipstick and my favorite sunglasses from Nordstrom. The whole look has a bit of a 50s vibe to it!
I also parted my hair differently, I don’t know if you can tell. I’m trying out new parts since I’ll be chopping off about two inches in a few weeks (eek!). I’m not sure I like this off-center look though. What do you think?
I wore this to my last day working in Chapman’s Alumni Relations department. I definitely cried since it was my last day…oh gosh, I’m tearing up now! I had such an incredible time managing the alumni social media for the university and learned so much. I hate saying goodbye so much. It’s really, really hard, especially since I’ve been working there for a year. My boss was so kind at took me to this amazing pizza place as a last hurrah. I will miss working there dearly.
This past weekend was my final formal with the Eta Sigma chapter of Kappa Alpha Theta. (I will be transferring to the Alpha Sigma chapter in the fall at Washington State University) Very bittersweet, it was still a really fun event! I took my best friend, Selina as my date (taking your best friend is way less stressful than taking a guy!)
I’m wearing my favorite dress from TexasRoots Boutique, super cute wedges from Shop Hope’s (use the discount LYSSLIFEREP for 10% off your order at Hope’s!), and a statement necklace from Forever 21. I also have my amazing Luxy Hair extensions in!

I have always been afraid of wearing a baggy shirt combined with a flowy skirt because I thought it would look boxy. However, I really love how this look came together. It is casual and comfy with a little bit of an edgy side. I am also wearing my brand new Luxy Hair extensions which I am IN LOVE with. I will be posting a review and video later in the week about them so stay tuned.
Yesterday was another day of 90+ degree heat and Santa Ana winds. Since skirts were out of the question and there was no way I could bring myself to wear pants, I threw on this adorable high-waisted skort from Forever 21. I paired it with a flowy crop top (also from Forever 21), and a crisp blazer from Target. A super chic business casual look, I did not overheat or have a Marilyn Monroe moment.
With the frenzy of Stagecoach and Coachella over, we gear up for another wave of concerts. The best thing about these festivals (besides the music) is the fashion.
Unfortunately, a lot of the high-fashion, boho, whimsical, or skimpy clothing that is perfectly normal at a festival is not really appropriate for day-to-day wear.
My beautiful little is my model today as she shows off some of her festival-esque clothes that she can rock almost anywhere!
Yesterday I had the incredible privilege of managing Chapman University’s Twitter and Instagram during the annual “Spring Sizzle.” It was a blast – I felt so energized after. Opportunities like this remind me of how much I love social media especially for live events. I just really enjoy myself and feel very confident when I do it.
The one thing I did not feel confident about was my body. I really do not know what triggered this inside of me as I am usually very content with my body, but I guess I just had an off day. As I was settling in for the night to write this post and head to bed, a woman in my sorority shared this video on Facebook. I watched in awe as I was incredibly uplifted and inspired. I have included it at the bottom of this post for you to watch – I really hope you do! It is only about eight minutes long and will seriously make you feel beautiful and valued.
I hope you all have a wonderful rest of your day!
Step aside Coachella, it’s time for some real music! Stagecoach is this weekend and I know it’s going to be amazing. Sadly, I cannot make it but I’ll be tearing it up at Watershed Festival in August, don’t worry. If you are going to Stagecoach, please touch Luke Bryan’s butt for me. Anyways, I just thought I’d share some of my favorite country music festival outfits with y’all. I hope you enjoy!
